About the Project
The Meta Quest 3 is a new mixed-reality headset created by Meta, allowing users to interact with their environments and provide immersive experiences. It will allow users to do a variety of activities such as play games in augmented reality, learn an instrument, attend a concert and work/collaborate in an online environment.
As a part of the launch of the Meta Quest 3 headset, we worked extensively on the trailers, mainly involving the animations and effects on the copy. We had to use various tools and plugins in order to achieve desired effects such as rotoscoping to get the copy to go behind the toys in the introduction trailer (40s in). We also localised this into multiple languages across the planet, which itself was a challenge as some animations had to be altered to compensate for the difference in the way text is read/written in different languages (Korean had some extra complications with the animation of the word ‘play’ in the intro trailer – around 15s in).
